Alternative use of biomass
Hornoch, Radek ; Radil, Lukáš (referee) ; Bartošík, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis describes the options of the processing biomass on the nobler fuels and their using. In the first part are described the sources of biomass so the option targeted grow crops or use different convenient wastes. The second part contains a description of the technology, how to revise the biomass to synthesis gas, methanol, ethanol, biodiesel and biogas. They are given yields on already mentioned high-grade fuels from individual crops and technologies. The third part deals with device where it is maybe to use nobler forms of fuels. It is going about traditional heating plant with back pressure or condensing extraction turbine, steam heating plant, a cogeneration unit with micro turbine, a cogeneration unit with combustion engine and a cogeneration unit with fuel cells. At the end of the chapter is a comparison of the different devices when using different fuels.
Methanol as an alternative fuel
Balcárek, Ondřej ; Kučera, Pavel (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis is a topic review of problematics of alternative fuel solutions, in particular of methanol and it's production. The aim was to describe properties and possibilities of use of methanol, not only as fuel, but also as a raw material in chemical industry. The information was obtained mainly from English-written sources. Finally, in conclusion part, use and potential of methanol in period of transition to renewable sources is being reviewed.
Fuel for internal combustion engines
Vrbický, Jiří ; Jedelský, Jan (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
This thesis is concerned with basic features of fuels for internal consumption engines, especially their influence on thermal efficiency. It also introduces dividing of fuels and their compare in ecologic, economic and technologic side. It is concerned convectional fuels (gasoline, diesel oil) and alternative fuels (nature gas, bottled gas, hydrogen, biodiesel, biogas, methanol and ethanol).
Alternative Fuels in Agricultural Engineering and Trucks
Masnica, Pavel ; Svída, David (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
The purpose of this thesis is introduction of alternative fuels especially in agriculture. Compare the properties of alternative fuels, their impact to ecology and engine power. Advantages and disadvantages of alternative fuels. And their expectations.
Alternative fuel for internal combustion engines for commercial vehicles
Snášel, Pavel ; Charvát, Pavel (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
The liquid petroleum fuels, gasoline and diesel, have gradually enforced during the development of thermal machines. Because these fuels are non-renewable and their usage is joined with many ecological and economical problems, we face the task how to replace these dominating fuels. The purpose of this thesis is to summarize and compare the properties of alternative fuels, especially their heating value, and sketch the supposed progress of their usage in transportation.
Alternative Fuel Engines
Bilík, Michal ; Ramík, Pavel (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This thesis deals with an overview of alternative fuels for road vehicles and their effect on ecology. This work also describes the specific characteristics and peculiarities of power units which run on alternative fuels, their advantages, disadvantages and shows examples of some vehicles.
Příprava a hodnocení odrůdových destilátů z hroznů
Šimek, Fabián
The aim of the thesis was to process grapes of several vine varieties by two different methods and to prepare microsamples of distillates. Then by using chemical, physical and sensory methods evaluate and compare used varieties, technology of spirits production and selected quality parameters. The diploma thesis was developed in the years 2018 – 2020 at the Institute of Postharvest Technology of Horticultural products, at the Faculty of Horticulture in Lednice of Mendel University in Brno. Thesis describes the production technology, quality parameters and legislation of spirits from grapes and wines. The experimental part of the thesis is devoted to the production of these distillates and compares two methods of processing grapes for distillation. First method was preparing wine by traditional way, which is then distilled. Second method was an alternative approach, where the grapes was processed similar to fruits distillates, where the grapes are not pressed, but ferment on skins and distilled with them also.
Cross-sectional study of selected legal regulations in the field of alcohol with a specific focus on the methanol case
Fialová Mikešová, Tereza ; Šejvl, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Rolová, Gabriela (referee)
Background: In 2012, there were massive poisonings with harmful alcohol laced with methanol throughout the Czech Republic. As a result of intoxications, not only death but also damage of health of various degrees occurred. The event, which directly endangered public health, brought new experience and, among other things, confirmed the thesis accepted in professional circles that no way of consuming alcohol is necessarily safe or even beneficial to health, which is why there is a need to change the approach to alcohol. Aim: The aim of the bachelor thesis was to briefly describe the development of selected legislative regulations aimed at reducing alcohol consumption on our territory from the establishment of the independent republic to the present day and to describe the procedure and measures applied by state administration authorities during methanol poisonings and the effects of this phenomenon on the further development of legislation in the context of the event. Methods: Content qualitative analysis of written materials was used. In the first place, suitable documents issued by state administration bodies, legal regulations published in the Collection of Laws and media communications were selected. The obtained data were subsequently subjected to a qualitative content analysis, on the basis of...
Cognitive sequelae from methanol poisoning
Bernášková, Lucie ; Kulišťák, Petr (advisor) ; Šivicová, Gabriela (referee)
This thesis focuses on cognitive functions in patients after methanol poisoning. The theoretical part consists of a description of methanol, characteristics of methanol poisoning and its neurological sequelae. Methanol poisoning affects the basal ganglia, therefore we describe them and their role in cognitive processes. The theoretical part also describes a case of mass methanol poisoning in the Czech Republic in 2012-2013. The practical part compares results of a control group and a group of patients poisoned with methanol in cognitive assessment. Results show that the patients after methanol poisoning have significantly lower scores in tasks testing memory and executive functions than the control group.
